Psalm 139:13–14
“For you created my inmost being… I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Christmas 2024
I was raised in Reese, Michigan, where I grew up in the Pentecostal tradition and developed a deep and lasting faith. I was raised by my grandparents, whose grit, wisdom, and unwavering love shaped much of who I am today. When I lost my grandfather at the age of sixteen, it became a defining moment in my life—one that deepened my faith and solidified my belief in the promise of heaven.
I graduated high school with honors and, during that time, discovered my love for music, my relationship with God, and a desire to fully embrace life. I began my college journey at Saginaw Valley State University and later continued at California State University San Marcos, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Vocal Music Performance and History. These studies allowed me to combine my passion for music with a love of storytelling and connection.
I am a classically trained baritone with a deep love for hymns, spirituals, folk songs, and art song. Music has remained a central part of my life and faith, and I regularly use my gifts in worship, with my church choir, and in several community choirs. Throughout the year, I also present concerts and recitals, sharing music that reflects both my artistic training and my spiritual journey.
Alongside my academic and professional path, I have been on a deeply personal and spiritual journey. Over time, I came to a place of peace and acceptance in my identity as a gay man, while continuing to grow in my faith. This journey led me to explore a more Reformed understanding of Christianity—first through the Presbyterian Church, and now within an interdenominational congregation. These experiences have broadened my perspective and deepened my commitment to a faith rooted in grace, unity, and the love of Christ.
For more than a decade, I have worked in hospitality management, serving in a variety of settings including hotels, restaurants, and even a bowling alley. Each experience has strengthened my ability to lead, serve others, and build meaningful connections. I now serve at Bridgeport Community Church, where I am involved in many areas of ministry and enjoy using my gifts to support the life of the church.
Outside of my professional and church life, I enjoy staying active and creative. I ski, hike, bike, and kayak, and I take great pride in the kitchen—always ready to give anyone a run for their money. I have been married for ten years to my wonderful husband, who served his country in the Marine Corps, and I am deeply grateful for the life we have built together.
My goal is simple: to see the world, to truly enjoy the life God has given me, and to leave my part of the world better than I found it. Through my faith, my work, my music, and my relationships, I strive to live that out each day.
Where Faith, Culture, and Experience Meet
This website is a space where I can thoughtfully share my musings, creative work, and the many interests that shape my life. At its heart, it reflects my desire to explore how faith is not confined to Sunday mornings, but is woven into the rhythms of everyday life—informing how we think, create, serve, and connect with the world around us. Here, I bring together reflections on faith, culture, music, and personal experience, offering an honest and meaningful perspective shaped by my own journey. It is my hope that this space will encourage thoughtful conversation, deeper understanding, and a greater appreciation for the ways faith meets us in every corner of life.
Micah 6:8
